WP Pressident was actually my first attempt at a premium style Wordpress theme back last January. It was originally called Wordpressident before I subsequently discovered that Wordpress doesn’t like people using the word Wordpress.
As this was my first shot at a dynamic theme, it was very rough around the edges, but still managed to get 75 downloads. I’ve spent some time giving it a major makeover and I’ve cleared up all the bugs in the process. I’m re-releasing the theme free today as WP Pressident.
Features:
- 6 Widget Ready Sidebars Total
- 2 Widget Ready Header Sidebars
- 3 Widget Ready Footer Sidebars
- Built in RSS
- Dynamic Page Nav Generation
- Web 2.0 Style

This is a very nice clean theme with navigation and text areas defined. The theme is bright and easy to follow. Of recent, we have found a greater responce from people when we use a bright web theme than a darker theme.
Thank you for your theme and hard work.
Hey Sam I added a ad box to this theme. For me it was the one thing that was missing so I finally figured out how to do it without playing with any of css. Take a look.
Hey Ron,
It looks great in Internet Explorer but unfortunately it’s messed up in Firefox. If you tell me what you changed, I may be able to help you fix it up.
I just made a table in an html editor frontpage put in the banners and copy/pasted the html in the widget.
it looks like the whole page is messed up in firefox.
Did it only get messed up after you added the ads to your sidebar? Try removing it and see if it works in firefox. I can’t really see any reason why that would be messing up your layout. Did you edit any code anywhere else in the theme?
Hey Sam not to sure what happens in firefox.
How do I set trackback urls for each post?
What exactly do you mean by setting trackback URLS? Can you link me to an example?
I can help you fix your layout in firefox if you tell me where you edited code.
Forget the trackback links.
I did not touch any code in the css at all. Would not even know how so I never did anything with the code.
Ok so it must be something to do with the table you added to the sidebar. First thing I would recommend is just remove that widget from the sidebar, then check in firefox and make sure it’s working fine. Once we narrow it down, then I can show you how to fix the code in the widget so that it doesn’t mess up the layout.
Will do.
That did not work. I am still using wordpress 2.3, 2.6 had too many bugs.
Is 2.7 ok?
Yeah 2.7 should work fine.
I will give it a shot.
How can I change the background color of the sidebar widgets from the light blue to white?
You mean the background behind the title of the widget? It’s an image controlled by the H2 sidebar tag in the CSS file. In my opinion changing it would probably be more trouble than it’s worth but you can certainly give it a try. The best thing to do would probably be replace it with a different background image.
The color underneath the widget title.
It’s part of the main background image. You can find that in the images folder. It’s a long image and about 1px high. All you need to do is open it up in an image editor and color over the sidebar color – or if you want to make it white you could just erase it. Just watch out for the drop shadow on the sides.
I will just leave it, don’t want to mess anything up.
Thank you for all your help Sam.
I upgraded to wordpress 2.7 still does not look right in firefox.
I was also told in apple safari not good either.
I just checked it in FF and Safari and it looks perfect on my end.
Outstanding Thank You.
Great theme. I’m just having a very messed up demo? Is that only a problem with demo? I’m using Chrome.
Yes, the demo currently isn’t showing properly, but the theme works fine. Check out Ron’s site above.
I need to change the way my demo themes are displayed, it isn’t a problem with the themes themselves.
